Just getting home, and am rather beat but wound a bit. I was flying low down from my dad’s place just now and encountered a cop doing radar in total darkness out in the middle of nowhere. Well, had he chose to he had me dead to rights, not quite as fast as he could have had me for just 5 minutes earlier but fast enough.
I was not foolish enough to deny that I was speeding nor to argue. I simply handed over my license, ownership and insurance and waited. Whew! a warning to slow down and I was on my way home.
Church was good this morning, a rather uplifting day, especially for Palm Sunday. We had 25 in church this morning, we usually end up with about 19 or 20. Three of those in attendance were youngsters, an infant and two toddlers. They were active but not overdone. When you go to a church which has a noticeable absence of children and young people, the sound of children in church is music to the ears.
A couple came in right at the end of the service who were guests. They accepted an invitation to join us for our coffee and fellowship time and the members made a point of talking to them and welcoming them. That is a big bit of progress as churches are notorious for inviting guests in for coffee and then promptly ignoring them.
Once church was over, I headed up to dad’s. My sister was down visiting so we were able to combine a visit together and time to spend with dad a week late for his birthday. Since I was sick last Sunday I couldn’t get up to see him. We had a good visit. It was from there I was flying low.
Ok, now I’ve wound down, I’m heading to bed.
