Today is Good Friday, one of the most important days on the Christian calendar. Went to church this morning, it was that important a day. Today is the day which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In some Christian circles the Jews are vilified as the people who were responsible for his crucifixion. I can’t bring myself to do that, nor can I consider Judas to be a betrayer of Christ to the Jewish leadership. If Christ’s death on the cross was the fulfillment of the scriptures and God’s will, how can any earth bound person have responsibility for his death? They would have played their parts in order for God’s will to have been carried out.
His death was the sealing of the new covenant… the promise of forgiveness and redemption no matter how many times we fall short of perfect. We need only a sincere desire to admit our shortcomings and try to walk His path.
I spent the rest of the day resting mostly, watching some TV and doing some reading of other blogs.
