Tim Hortons for Our Troops on Facebook
Apr 26
Have you been facebooked? That has become an actual term these days, just like googling meaning to search. I’ve been on Facebook.com for a while now, still learning about it. One of the features there is the ability to join groups, there are thousands of them. I came across some today which are support groups for our forces serving Canada in Afghanistan.
Tim Hortons for Our Troops is a group whose purpose is to get Tim Hortons to have a day like they do for ‘send a kid to camp’ where a portion of the proceeds go to kids programs. The group is asking Tim Hortons to do the same for the troops in Afghanistan. So far they have over 10,000 members. You need to be a member of Facebook to join but that is free.
Support Canadian Troops in Afghanistan is a group with just over 14,000 members is meant to give you an opportunity to thank the troops. Notes posted on the wall there are printed and posted at Camp Nathan Smith in Kandahar. So join it and leave your thanks
Other groups with the same reason is Support Our Troops with almost 8,000 members, Canadian Support of NATO Troops in Afghanistan and I Support Canadians in Afghanistan.
If you want to add me as a friend on Facebook I’m Patti M or patti at idesofbooks.com (obviously, replace at with @ – spambot avoidance)
