In the early morning light this morning I stood gazing out my kitchen window as I waited for the kettle to boil for tea (yes sometimes I drink tea instead of coffee). It was a gray start to the day today (still is rather overcast) which probably is why I noticed how much green was starting to appear outside my window.

There is a field between me and the barn next door, apparently it was seeded with a crop last fall as I first noticed the even lines of green just starting to rise above the soil, then I noticed amongst the dead grass from last fall, the first green of my new lawn.

By now, a lot of people are starting to think and plan for summer. They are looking forward to the hot weather and opportunities for leisure and parties. Me, I just enjoy spring. I enjoy seeing the earth emerge from the snow and come to life. More
