I’m a Canadian, as a true blue Canuck I visit Tim Hortons like everyone else. I’m even happy to hear that the little community I live in will have a Tim Hortons by the fall. The community next door is fighting getting one but sucks to be them, eh. I will continue to visit Timmies but I wont be buying their latest promotional product, the snack wraps.

So, what’s my beef with the wraps? They are likely pretty good tasting stuff as most of Tim Horton’s products are. I really dislike the commercial they are using to promote them. So, I’m not about to reward their poor promotion with sales.

The commercial takes place in an office environment where two guys are debating over who gets to claim the name “Wrapman”. Their debate is briefly interrupted by a female co-worker who greets them with “hello Wrapman”. The two respond, one by calling her “Wrapgirl” before turning to his co-worker and telling him he could be “Wrapboy”. The co-worker responds with “But I’m a man”.

One of my pet peeves in life is the habit people have of referring to women as ‘girls’ while men are ‘guys’, ‘the men’, etc. Yes, sometimes guys are referred to as ‘the boys’ but not near as routinely as the opposite side of the coin. When I hear people referring to women as ‘girls’ it is the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.

So, since Tim Hortons didn’t have enough brains in this day and age to at minimum have the female co-worker given the moniker “Wrapwoman”, I’m not interested in their product line. This full grown, self-supporting WOMAN will gladly ignore their wraps.

I must admit having a bit of a liking for McDonald’s MacWraps but they could use cutting down the amount of sauce in the wrap. I know, picky, picky me.
